Casa Soccer League of Boston Week 3 was full of exciting matches!!

Minutemen FC hosted their rival, Retired Glory FC, in a battle to stay on top of the table as the table started to shape. Minutemen FC and Retired Glory FC both won their first two games, and had 6 points under their belt prior to this match. This match was what the league was all about. High quality soccer with gerat sportmanship from both sides... Both squads battled for possession in the first half. Retired Glory FC had numerous chances to take the lead. However, they were all denied by Minutemen's goalkeeper. With 10 minute to go in second half, Retired Glory's Andrew Stam was fouled inside the box by Minutemen's defender. Skipper Victor Anciano stepped up to take the penalty kick. However, once again, it was denied by Minutemen's goal keeper. Last 10 minute was full of good soccer and drama... Josh Baugh gave Retired Glory FC a lead with a stunning goal. However, with one minutemen to go before the final whistle, David Govonlu had an equalizer to tie the game at 1-1. Both Retired Glory FC and Minutemen FC stand at 7 points behind the primer leader BIFC (9 points) and the second place Oneida (9 points).

AC Boston and BIFC match was a good soccer match with a lot on the stake. AC Boston was yet to look for the first win of the season, and BIFC was looking to stay on top of the primera as Oneida, Retired Glory, and Minutemen FC were right behind on the table. AC Boston Vs BIFC started in a stalemate with neither team gaining clear advantage. The breakthrough came in the closing minutes of the first half when forward Celil Topcubasi had one of the rare first half chances in front of the goal and finished to give BIFC a lead that they wouldn't relinquish. The second half started strong again but BIFC's half-time adjustments proved too much for AC Boston as Igor Dacruz, Ricky Podsiadlo, and Sebastian Fritz all found the net and Tedi Kujofsa broke through for a brace, while Marsel Novak earned man of the match for a stellar goal keeping performance. 6-nil BIFC. BIFC is still undefeated and is on top of the primera with 26 goals scored and 5 conceded just in 3 matches. AC Boston is still yet to look for the first win of the season as ACB will be facing MIT, the segunda division champion from the last season.

Shamrock FC and MIT match was the clash of two teams that were promoted to the primera division this season. Shamrock and MIT didn't have the best start of a season as they both lost their first two matches. A victory in this match was going to be crucial for the winner. As there was a lot at stake for this match, both teams pushed hard from early on in the match. It was a good attacking soccer with both teams looking to find the back of the net in every play. Nick Nuccio had an opening goal, and gave Shamrock an early lead in the match. It was 3-3 at the half time. However, Justin Patrie of Shamrock notched in two beautfiul volleys in the back of the net of MIT to give Shamrock 5-3 win. Shamrock currently stands in 5th place with 3 points and MIT stands in 6th place.

Oneida FC did their business against NE Noreasters. Matt Hardiman led the Oneida FC with Man of the match performance and 2 goals. Tyler Oneil had two goals, and Antonio Fresco, Costas Lyssiotis, Greg Stitt and Andre Rosas each had put one in the back of the net of NE Noreasters. Alberto Lamberti had one lone goal from NE Noreasters. However, Oneida's thumping offense was too much for the Noreasters.

Three Primera matches were played on Sunday at Winsor.
French Connection and FC Shawmut match was a clash of two new teams in the league. French Connection had a better start of the season than FC shawmut did as FC shawmut was yet to come up with the first win of the season. Both teams came with full squad to look for that victory. This match was all about what attacking soccer was. Total of 10 goals were tallied up in this match. 7 by French connection and 3 by FC Shawmut. Attacking force of French connection was too much for FC shawmut as Laurent Bouzelmat broke through for a brace and led the French with man of the match performance.

Middlesex United and Extreme FC had a tasty match. Going in to the match, Middlesex United had 4 points (one win and one tie) and Extreme FC was still looking for the first win of the season. Matt Sciandra broke through for a brace, and led the reds with man of the match performance. Zaid Nesheiwat broke through for a brace and while Matias Ramos, Almaz Myktybekovich Imanaliev and Aubrey Bynoe all found the back of the net to give Middlesex 7-1 victory over Extreme FC. Middlesex has a lot in hands as they will be facing the segunda leader, Arsenal Maulers. Extreme FC are still yet to find the form they hope to see.

Real Boston FC and Oneida Reserves was another good soccer match. Both teams were looking to pick up the performance, and move on to the top half of the segunda table. Esteban Gonzalez and Jose Vega of Real Boston FC found the net to give Real Boston FC 2-1 victory over Oneida reserves.

The last game of the weekend was between Casa Boston "Original Six" Penguin and The Arsenal Maulers. The match was a back and forth, punch and counter punch. Arsenal struck first of a beautiful corner kick header by Brain Richards. Penguin's keeper kicked a beautiful long ball over the Arsenal defenders leading to a break away resulting in a goal by Penguin. The first half ended tied 2-2. The second half was just as closely played, but Arsenal ended up with the upper hand and the 4-2 victory.

The Standings have been updated. Congratulations to our Players of the Match for this week:
